Set the Stage

This team building activity is perfect for a large event such as a conference or trade show. The entire group of members must band together to create a stage backdrop, much like a mural, which conveys the company’s primary mission or message.

Goals:

  • The set design task is perfect for illustrating why focusing on the “big picture” can be just as important if not more than individual efforts.
  • Some excitement is introduced with the mural to keep momentum up.
  • A basis of trust is something the team will learn during this task.

The Process:
A set design is supplied to your group which illustrates the overall company message as well as the conference setting you all are in. Next, your group recreates this design on large canvas panels that will be outfitted to fit within the main staging area. Each team has their own design to complete from the supply of art supplies and tutelage from instructors. The teams must communicate with one another so each giant panel will come together with a common theme.

If you choose this team building event, you can choose additional items to enhance the set design experience. Lighting, audiovisual equipment and more can be incorporated for the ultimate stage scene.
